This 55 year old woman came to my Munster plastic surgery office considering a face lift. Indiana residents choose this facial rejuvenation procedure to improve the appearance of jowls, nasolabial folds (smile lines around the mouth), and marionette lines (folds that extend from the corner of the mouth to the chin). This patient also was concerned about prominent frown lines.
Face lift in Indiana is so effective, because it repositions soft tissues in the face, creating a more youthful appearance. This patient’s goal was to correct generalized droopiness while avoiding the unnatural, pulled look that can occur with overly aggressive surgical resculpting. For her frown lines, I recommended using BOTOX® Cosmetic.
As a smoker, this patient was required to quit for at least 1 month both before and after her surgery to maximize surgical safety and help in healing. Smoking affects both the need for and the results of a face lift. Indiana residents who smoke not only subject their faces to damaging pollutants that cause their skin to age and lose luster, but also their face lift results will be compromised if they continue to smoke after surgery. Obviously, quitting smoking permanently improves your health and beauty, especially when you maintain other healthy lifestyle habits such as eating right, exercising, and protecting against UV exposure.
This patient had her face lift in Indiana performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Incisions were hidden in the hair and around the ear where scarring is not very noticeable. To soften her frown lines, I treated her with BOTOX® Cosmetic 1 month after surgery. As you can see, her facial rejuvenation inspired her to change her hairstyle and color as well for a much more vibrant and youthful look.
