Hospice Hustle - Benefiting Hospice of Calumet

Save the Date for Hospice Hustle 2019: September 15

The annual Hospice Hustle Cycling Event that benefits Hospice of the Calumet Region is quickly approaching once again! For the 15th year, the event is co-chaired by Dr. Galante and Bill Hasse of Hasse Construction. Both are excited to extend a personal invitation to you to attend this event, held in the beautiful countryside of southern Lake County.

Join us on Sunday, September 15 at 8:00 a.m. for a day of exercise. Hospice Hustle 2019 offers a peaceful bike ride of 25, 50, 75, or 100 miles. And of course, this year there will be the family-friendly 15-mile trail ride again, so bring the kids and enjoy the sunshine together.

Registration is $35 in advance and $40 day of event (with all proceeds going to help provide care for hospice patients and their family). At registration, cyclists are provided a pancake breakfast and coffee sponsored by Starbucks. Following the ride, cyclists can refuel with chili provided by Scarborough Fair Catering, relax with a massage from Shanti Wellness therapists, and enjoy live music by Sandbox, with beer available for purchase from Crown Brewing.

We hope to see you there! Your support will help us continue the Hospice of Calumet Region’s mission to provide care to those facing a life-limiting illness. Check out the NWI Times article for more information as well.

Recover from Summer - Treat unwanted skin damage from summer

Nikki’s Recommendations to Reverse Sun Damage

Undo the Damage of Summer with IPL

Did you have a little too much fun in the sun this summer? While summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors, it can also damage your skin if you didn’t take the proper measures to protect it. Sun damage is the primary cause of premature aging, causing discoloration and poor skin texture.

If you forgot to lather on that SPF this summer, IPL (intense pulsed light) skin rejuvenation treatments with our aesthetic nurse, Nikki, can help reverse some of those effects. IPL delivers light energy to the skin to stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and create a healthy, even tone. READ MORE ON IPL

Nikki Also Recommends Chemical Peels

If you’re looking for additional options to reverse summer damage and rejuvenate the skin, Nikki also offers chemical peels. A chemical peel removes the outer layer of cells and reveals the healthier complexion underneath.

Despite its scary-sounding name, it is not a painful procedure; it’s merely a solution that’s applied to the skin as a form of chemical exfoliation to accelerate skin cell turnover and stimulate collagen production. READ MORE ON CHEMICAL PEELS

Refresh your Fall look - Fall is the perfect time for a facelift

Choose a Customized Facelift for Fall with Dr. Galante

facelift can restore a youthful and vibrant appearance, leaving you feeling refreshed for fall and looking much better than your stated age. Dr. Galante often performs both mini and standard facelift procedures in the fall to help patients reduce signs of aging, such as wrinkles, lines, and jowls, and to restore firmness by correcting laxity in the tissues.

Prior to any decision or procedure, Dr. Galante will begin with a thorough consultation for every patient. During the consultation, he will discuss your goals, obtain a full medical history, explain the procedure, and answer any questions about his recommendations.

Dr. Galante performs facelifts on an outpatient basis, meaning you can return home after your procedure. Recovery from a facelift is usually faster than you might expect. Pain is typically minimal, and you can easily manage any discomfort with medication. Results will typically last 7 to 10 years.

If you’re interested in learning more about mini or standard facelift procedures with Dr. Galante, you can visit his website for additional information and request your complimentary consultation online or by calling (219) 322-3131.

Our Wonderful Team is Growing

As many of our patients will know, the Galante team is full of experienced, kind-hearted, and hard-working individuals who strive to provide the high-quality patient care every day. It’s because of these team members that our practice has grown and recently been able to expand!

We’d like to welcome our newest team members and say thank you to our experienced team members who have helped them get up-to-speed:

Julie, our financial coordinator, has extensive experience in the medical field. Her solid clinical skills coupled with her patient-focused people skills make her an ideal staff member to handle all financial issues. Thank you to Anna, our committed and long-time receptionist, for welcoming Julie and getting her set up with the Galante team.

Brittney is our certified medical assistant who helps educate patients, preparing them for their surgery or minor in-office procedures. Her vibrant and positive demeanor combined with her care and compassion for patients fits perfectly with Dr. Galante’s family-friendly office environment. We are grateful to our patient coordinator, Megan, for helping Brittney quickly become an integral part of the team, just like Megan is!

Next time you’re in the office, be sure to say hello to Julie and Brittney and say a little thank you to Anna and Megan for their dedication.
