Gynecomastia Before & After Case 118

Before & After
Case Details
This 25-year-old male business systems analyst from Chicago came to our Schererville office with an asymmetrical chest. Although his condition was not medically significant, as seen in the before photos, it was noticeable — and correctable. Unilateral gynecomastia, or a single overly large male breast, can be the source of low self-esteem and sometimes makes it difficult for men to form intimate relationships.
Gynecomastia is abnormal development of breast tissue in men. Dr. Galante performed a unilateral subcutaneous mastectomy, the technique he uses most commonly for male breast reduction in Indiana. The outpatient surgery was performed under general anesthesia at the Munster Same Day Surgery center.
The procedure surgically removes some tissue from one or both breasts, and sometimes it also includes liposuction of excess fat. Scars are practically invisible because Dr. Galante places them around the areola in the natural color transition.
If you think you have unilateral or bilateral gynecomastia, request a consultation with Dr. Galante to discuss your options. Or call our office at (219) 322-3131 to schedule an appointment.
