Case Details
This 46-year-old dental practice manager's very active lifestyle keeps her in shape, but did not do anything to increase the size of her naturally small breasts. Now that she had two grown daughters she felt it was a good time for her to be able to enjoy fuller, more feminine breasts along with her trim and healthy body, so she started looking into choices for surgeons performing breast augmentation in Indiana.
In her consultation we discussed her current breast size and her goals for enhancement, and I reviewed her medical history. She explained that she wanted her breasts to fill a small D cup bra, and I outlined her options for both silicone and saline implants. Some women who have had children will need a breast lift at the same time as their augmentation since pregnancy tends to cause breasts to sag dramatically, but I explained that the extra procedure would not be necessary in her case.
I performed her surgery as an outpatient procedure using general anesthesia, and I placed each of her 375cc, silicone-gel implants through an incision below the breast. I positioned them under the chest muscle, a common choice for thinner and more athletic woman since it gives a very smooth curve to the upper chest.
Her breast implants have given her the D-cup bra size she desired, and she is very happy with her new shape. In her side-view photos it's apparent that her new, fuller breasts rest at the same position as her breasts before surgery, but I was able to completely reverse her apparent sagginess by filling out the loose tissue and placing the implants at a flattering position in relation to the nipple-areola complex.
