This 29-year-old woman breastfed both of her children and wanted to restore volume to her B-cup breasts. She consulted with Dr. Galante at our office in Valparaiso, which is where the patient lives. Breasts sometimes sag after breastfeeding, but that wasn't a concern for this patient, so she decided on a breast augmentation surgery.

After talking to Dr. Galante about her breast implant options, the pharmacy tech decided to get Natrelle® high-profile, 400-cc silicone gel implants. Dr. Galante performed the surgery in Hobart at Lake Park Surgicare, a fully accredited facility and 1 of 3 locations where he performs surgery.

Dr. Galante inserted the implants through inframammary fold (IMF) incisions made at the base of the breasts. This is the most common breast augmentation incision location in part because the resulting scars are easily concealed even when wearing a bathing suit and are typically barely perceptible when naked. The surgeon placed the implants behind the patient's pectoral muscles, which is often the choice for women with little existing breast tissue. The patient is now a DD cup.
