When this 46-year-old mother of 3 met with Dr. Galante at his Schererville office to discuss getting breast augmentation with implants, she said she wanted to go from a B cup to a C cup. She had breastfed her children and, like many women, had lost volume in her breasts.

The Indiana business owner's case also demonstrates the artistry involved in breast augmentation. Dr. Galante combined the augmentation with mastopexy (a breast lift) on the left breast to achieve symmetrical results. This also involved using different sized implants. During the surgery, Dr. Galante used a moderate plus-profile, 300-cc saline implant for the left breast and a moderate plus-profile, 355-cc saline implant for the right breast.

During the consultation, Dr. Galante thoroughly discusses the breast implant options and surgical choices available with each patient. Those choices include the location of incisions and where the implants are placed in the breasts. This patient decided to have the implants inserted through incisions made at the base of her breasts, just above the crease where they connect to the chest. Scars resulting from inframammary fold incisions, as they are called, are barely perceptible, as you can see in the after photos.
