Case Details
After breastfeeding 5 children, this 28-year-old woman wanted to restore volume to her breasts. She wore a 36B bra when she came in for her consultation with Dr. Galante at his Valparaiso office. After discussing her breast implant options, the Indiana nurse decided to get MENTOR® high-profile, 500-cc saline implants.
Dr. Galante inserted the implants through small, horizontal incisions made at the base of the patient's breasts, known as inframammary fold (IMF) incisions, during the outpatient procedure performed at Franciscan Same Day Surgery Center in Munster. The IMF incision location is the most popular option Dr. Galante offers. As you can see in the after photos, scars are barely perceptible.
Dr. Galante placed the implants under the pectoral muscles, which is usually recommended for patients with little existing breast tissue to avoid complications such as visible rippling. The augmentation resulted in the patient going from a size 36B bra to 36D.
