Case #104

This 28 year old bartender came to see me in my Indiana plastic surgery office for a consultation regarding breast augmentation. She wore an A cup bra and wished to be enhanced enough to fill a B cup nicely. Her right breast was slightly larger than her left side, and she had some mild sagginess, where the nipples were lower on her breast mound.

After a long discussion about the different types of available breast implants, she decided to use silicone gel as they have a much more natural feel . Her breast shape was one that many surgeons would think about performing a breast lift at the same time to raise the position of the nipples. In my experience I felt that an adequate sized implant with plenty of projection would not only enhance her but also fill the skin envelope enough to avoid a lift.

Based on her breast dimensions, I placed a 375cc smooth, round, silicone gel implant on the left side and a 350cc implant on the right side to acheive symmetry. She was extremely pleased with her new look, depite the fact that she was now wearing  a D cup bra. Remember she desired a full B cup. This is a very common finding in my practice. In the end all that matters is the final appearance...patients just want to look better, no matter the new cup size. One store may have a completely different method of measuring cup size than another.
