After having two children, this 31-year-old deputy sheriff from Illinois wanted to restore her breast shape. She was not planning on having any more children and decided it was the right time for her to find out if an Indiana plastic surgeon could answer her questions about breast augmentation.

When she met with me for her consultation, I examined her breasts and discussed a number of different factors with her to determine whether she was a good candidate for this procedure. After establishing that breast augmentation would be a healthy choice for her, we discussed her options and I recommended silicone gel breast implants placed below the chest muscle.

Most patients have several options for where to place their incision, but I often recommend the inframammary approach (placing the incision directly below the breast) for patients who will have their implants placed below the muscle because it simplifies the process of creating the implant pocket, and any scarring will be hidden in the crease below the breast. She agreed to this surgical plan and we selected an implant size in the 350 to 400cc range.

In her procedure at Lake Shore Surgicare in Chesterton, Indiana, I placed two 397cc implants below the chest muscle before closing the incision and sending her home the same day.

This patient is very pleased with her 36 DD breast size, and appreciates how natural her results look. Her breast implants balance well with her body frame and meet her goals nicely.
